Cloud Storage System

Cloud Drive

A cloud storage system for uploading, organising and sharing files, built in public.

01 The problem

Storing and sharing files sounds simple until you need accounts, folders, quotas and a usable interface on every screen. Cloud Drive is my own take on that system, from the ground up.

02 What I built

I'm building Cloud Drive in public: a Django backend and a React frontend for uploading, managing and sharing files.

Accounts, file operations and per-account storage limits are handled by the backend; the interface tracks how much space you've used.

03 Highlights

  • Secure login and registration.
  • Upload, delete, copy and move files between folders.
  • Storage limits: 40 MB per file and 100 MB per account, with usage tracking.
  • Storage charts with Chart.js.
  • Responsive, mobile-friendly interface.

04 Under the hood

  • Django (Python) backend
  • React frontend
  • Chart.js for storage usage
  • MIT licensed
